The North Face Transgrancanaria 2026
The Transgrancanaria 2026 is the must-attend trail running event in the Canary Islands, which will be held from March 4 to 8, 2026. Organized by Arista Eventos, this twenty-seventh edition offers a range of modes for all skill levels, from demanding ultra races to options for families and newer runners.
Highlighted Modalities:
- Classic 126 km: The queen race, with a nighttime start (Friday, March 6, 23:59 h) from Las Canteras (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), covering around 126 km with an elevation gain of ~6,764 meters.
- Starting from Teror on the morning of Saturday, March 7, also with a new passage through Roque Nublo, advancing 82 km.
- Marathon 47 km: From Tejeda towards Maspalomas, an intermediate distance that demands good physical condition but is more manageable than the ultra.
- One of the new features of this edition: it starts from Santa Lucía de Tirajana, with approximately 1,817 meters of positive elevation change. Half 23 km.
- Promo / Short / Family Trail: For those who want to participate without going the ultra-distance, including categories for minors or beginners (Short 5 km, Family Trail, etc.)
- Vertical Kilometer "El Gigante": Start of the week (Wednesday, March 4, afternoon) with a short but steep route.
News 2026:
- Return of the passage through Roque Nublo in the Classic and Advanced modes, after resolving environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Change in the Half mode output: now from Santa Lucía de Tirajana, which enriches the route by introducing new landscapes and challenges.
- The Short (5 km) and the Family Trail will coexist on part of the route, encouraging participation from all levels and ages.
