Challenge Mogan Gran Canaria
The Challenge Mogan Gran Canaria is an international triathlon competition of medium and short distance that takes place every spring (April 26 in 2025) starting and ending at Anfi del Mar. It offers two distances: the medium distance consists of approximately 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling, and 21 km of running; the short distance includes about 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km on the bike, and 10 km running. In 2025, an elite group of more than 50 professional triathletes from over twenty nationalities participates, and the event is considered a crucial starting point for the European triathlon season. It features demanding segments: technical cycling routes with elevation, fast transitions, high paces in both cycling and running, and optimal weather, water and sun conditions.
If you stay at the Sport Hotel Montefeliz – powered by Playitas, the sports experience can greatly improve: you can take advantage of the proximity to train before the race, recover well after each segment (swimming, bike, running), use facilities for stretching or massage, plan the logistics of the trips to the start/finish area, and adapt to the mild climate, which helps keep the body active without major thermal shocks. It is a challenge that demands endurance, a good nutrition and hydration strategy, and being prepared for intense paces, especially in the bike and running segments.
